Truly in the heart there is a void
that can not be removed except with the company of Allah.
And in it there is a
sadness that can not be removed except with the happiness of knowing Allah and
being true to Him.
And in it there is an emptiness that can not be filled
except with love for Him and by turning to Him and always remembering Him.
And
if a person were given all of the world and what is in it, it would not fill
this emptiness.
Ibn Qayyim al Jawziyya.

Beautiful... Ibnul Qayyim rahimahullah is, as our american friends might say, 'da may-yann'!
.. akhi Abdur-Raheem - could you possibly put up the original Arabic as well insha Allah?
ARGcomment: I too the quote from an email I recieved. Inshallah, I'll try and track down the source.

Subhana'Allah that really is so beautiful! I received the email too and was thinking of blogging it but ya beat me to it alhamdulillah its all good!
Its true without Allah in every aspect of our lives there is emptiness no matter what else you have which is why day after day after day we see in the media maybe even in our own friends we know that those who do not have Allah in their lives no matter what they have they are never happy or content they always want more and more or they just break down and cant cope turning to alcohol, drugs and suicide! We just have to look at the pop stars for a real living example from the youngest ones to the oldest ones who have money literally pouring out of their ears, but its divorce after divorce, rehab after rehab, all I can say is... ALHAMDULILLAH NE'MATUL ISLAM!
