Umm Ibrahim

Thats great news-alhamdulilah.

Ive been trying to make more dua recently for our brethren, as its been raining a lot and during rainfall is one of the times when dua is more likely to be responded to. So, we should make dua for all those brothers and sisters in prison:

as it is said in the hadeeth of Sahl ibn Sa’d that is attributed to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): “There are two (du'aa) which will not be rejected: du’aa’ at the time of the call (to prayer) and when it is raining.” Narrated by Abu Dawood and classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’ (3078).

umm moosa

Subhan'Allaah! I was at Westminster and although I never spoke to Yassin I knew of him, and know him to be a good person.

If they can arrest Yassin (and convict him) on this "evidence" then it doesn't leave much hope for the rest of us.

Alhamdulillaah, all things are from Allaah. Positives are that his wife was cleared and that it was 3 and 1/2 years, but Alhamdulillaah, 7 months is even better.

ARGcomment: From the authorities point of view they are fighting a war agianst an "enemy" they can barely understand. You have to admit that the stuff on Yasin they found was pretty scary! Imagine you are in their shoes and you find some guy bringing in blue prints of al Qassim rockets, lectures by radical jahidi shiekhs etc... Those who know Yassin know better, but it not always that easy looking at it from the other side.
They don't known really who is lying and who is telling the truth, because from the jihadi angle "war is deception", and then how deep does the rabbit hole go?
If you look at Islam/Muslims with half understanding you might think everyone of us is a potential terrorist.
Then you have a line of Muslim "experts" all ready to compound this idea.
I'm not trying to excuse any wrong doing here, but I do think that we Muslims living in the West, many of us consider this for all intents and purposes our home, shouldn't think that this is necessarily "us" and "them".
At the end of day some terrible atrocities have been committed it seems in the name of Islam.
Even if you buy into the "conspiracy" scenario, there are still Muslims who think it was a good thing, and praise those who did it. That's a fact.
The issue that "well look what they have done to us" does not excuse it.
If we really want to change things, lets use the lawful means that are still available to us, and there are many! Lets put our efforts there. Physical jihad is simply not a way for us here, and if the language we sometimes use seems inflamatory, avoid it. We need to speak to people in a way that they can understand and accept.
The hope for the rest of lies in doing that and engaging in a positive way. People here should look at us as an asset, NOT a liability. Subhanallah, the scholars have been saying this for years, but did we really take any notice?
Anyway I could really go on aobut this very important topic, and inshallah, I will but something together soon, and it wasn't your particular post umm moosa, just generally somethings I've been wanting to "throw out there".

West Londoner

I am an old neighbour of the Nassari family, and I know Yassin and his two brothers.

I have been trying to get in touch with him in prison, to no luck.

I would be grateful if you could contact me and fwd on my details to Marwan.

Good news for Yassin, I hope he gets out very soon and is reunited with his family and friends.

I hope more unity is forged around these cases of injustice.

Umber Malik

I also remember Yassin and his wife who I had met once and masha'Allah all I can say is that from I know of them I can not believe that they would have anything to with harming any innocent insect let alone an innocent person via any act of terrorism! His case is not the first of innocent young muslims being ripped away from their families and friends and unfortunately im sure it will be not be the last... but we say Alhamdulillah and Allah is our protector and what better protiector to have than Him alhamdulillah! One request from me pls do pass my salams to both the brother and his wife!
